Before you begin your study always be in fellowship with God - nothing is Spiritually gained without  fellowship. Fellowship With God - Sin severs our fellowship with God and quenches or  grieves the Holy Spirit, the Greatest Teacher of all time. If you are already a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you must ensure that you are filled with the Holy Spirit, so that He will open your eyes to the Truth communicated; so you will come to comprehend and appreciate, the living waters of His Word - with all the saints the breadth and length and height and depth of His unchanging Word! In preparation, you should always pause, search your soul, and acknowledge all known sins to God the Father. If we confess our [known] sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our [known] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [unknown or forgotten sins]  (I John 1:9 NASB).  If you are not a believer in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ then at this time seize the opportunity to "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." (Acts 16:31)

The Basics by Gene Cunningham Download in PDF English & Spanish

The fundamental principles which underlie any course of study are called simply "the basics." The basics are the the nuts and bolts. They are the essentials, the things we must master before we can become proficient in any particular field. But the basics are also the things to which we must return when we lose our bearings. They are the bedrock, apart from which we have no hope of standing.

As new believers, we learn the basic principles: the love of God, the destructiveness of sin, salvation by faith, the authority of the Word, the sufficiency of grace. We begin to practice the basic exercises: confession, prayer, study, service.

As we mature, we come to realize that proficiency, skill in living the Christian life, is not a matter of moving beyond the basics, but is a matter of delving more deeply into them. We will never outgrow our need for confession or prayer or service; in fact, growth intensifies our need for and our pleasure in these things. And even though we learn more promises, more prin- ciples, more doctrines every day, we will never plumb the depths of even the most basic truths of God's Word.

Foundations Building In The Faith
by Pastor Drue Freeman

(Notice that this publication has been provided for you in several languages)

This portion of VMI’s Equip program is called Foundations, which is designed to assist the new student of the Word of God to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”
(2 Peter 3:18).
Therefore, the emphasis throughout Foundations is not only to understand the significance and depth of God’s Word but also to aid the student in the development of his own spiritual life.

Foundations is also designed to equip the student to teach others once the student has absorbed the principles into his own soul. It is a valuable tool for “making disciples” in fulfillment of the Great Commission
(Matthew 28:18-20).

Foundations is also designed to equip the student to teach others once the student has absorbed the principles into his own soul. It is a valuable tool for “making disciples” in fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).  This book contains the basic information that a student of God’s Word needs to know. Chapter 1, “Getting Started,” considers the importance of spiritual preparation and then gives an overview of God’s Word. Chapters 2 and 3 present a brief survey of each book in the Bible to give the student general information about the author and subject matter. Chapter 4 then leads the student through basic principles of interpretation which are designed to guide our understanding of the Scriptures. Chapters 5 through 8 introduce the student to basic theology, giving a summary of Biblical terms and concepts and Chapter 9 is designed to teach the student how to implement what has been learned, by actually preparing a Bible lesson. It is our sincere prayer that Foundations will let you more fully embrace our Lord Jesus Christ through the spiritual walk of faith revealed in His Word. Welcome to the excitement of God’s Word!

COMFORT IN SUFFERING
by Moses C. Onwubiko

At the inception of Comfort in Suffering I had recently been employed by Vanderbilt Hospital. While there I observed pain and suffering set against the backdrop of great care and concern. This prompted me to reflect on the suffering of man on earth tempered by the great provision and care our Heavenly Father has given each believer for these situations. The book of Job provided inspiration with its great lessons. It magnificently portrays great comfort in suffering, comfort provided by God and God alone.
God's Plan After Salvation
by Moses C. Onwubiko

Another way of posing this question is: What is your purpose in life as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ? Why are you still alive despite your countless failures? If God has a plan for you as His child, do you know what it is all about? Or, do you even care to find out what that plan is? Are you properly using the time that God has given to you each day? Do you ever try to imagine what eternity will look like?  Do you ever stop to think about the eternal consequences of failing to fulfill God’s plan for your life? What actually did the Apostle Paul mean when he said that a believer who failed to precisely carry out God’s plan will be saved, but only as one escaping through flames (1 Corinthians 3:15b)?  Indeed, have you taken time to seriously meditate on this verse?  Ask yourself if you are spending more time carrying out your own agenda than learning about and following God’s agenda.

Overview Of God's Grace
by Moses Onwubiko

Many believers have come short of living by grace because they don’t understand the phrase, “UNMERITED FAVOR,” which means a deed; an act of kindness proffered to someone who is undeserving. If the slightest merit on the part of the recipient is factored in, then it is no longer UNMERITED, but a reward or payment! It would be deserved!

The Lexical Aids (Greek Dictionary) to the New Testament defines grace (Greek: charis; Hebrew: hen) in this way: “A favor done without expectation of return; absolute freeness of the loving kindness of God to men finding its only motive in the bounty and free heartedness of the Giver; unearned and unmerited favor.”

Riding The Death Train
by Moses Onwubiko

Imagine yourself on a train destined for a death camp. All the passengers, including yourself, are
condemned and on the way to be executed. When the train is nearly at its destination, a young man is sighted on the tracks ahead. He’s waving a red flag, determined to stop the train. The conductor barely manages to bring the train to a screeching halt. Officials race from the train to interrogate he man and learn of his remarkable request – to die on behalf of everyone inside the train! “I am here to stop the execution,” the young man bravely declares. The amazed officers quickly get word of  this most unusual encounter to the judge who issued the orders.
Signs & Wonders
By
Moses C. Onwubiko

In the year 2005, I had the privilege of communicating the doctrine relevant to speaking in tongues and miracles, signs and wonders to a group of pastors and church workers in Nigeria, West Africa. Many in attendance were charismatic ministers. About 1,000 vibrating pastors sat before me when I first introduced the lesson. Many knew the ministry and its doctrinal position on this subject.   Literally, I had to appeal for calm. Thereafter, the Holy Spirit took center stage of the conference and threw a beam of light on this controversial subject. He opened their eyes to the unchanging Word of God in such a way they had little or no basis to argue or resist the Truth so clearly delineated! At the end of the five day conference, many were liberated from their error! Some of these came to us with this heartbreaking question: “Now that we know the Truth, where do we go from here?

The Spiritual Gift of Tongues
by Moses Onwubiko

Sadly, for the past century or so, a part of the Church has been adrift on a stormy sea of speaking in tongues as a means of spiritual experience. This storm is threatening to tear apart the whole Church. It appears that the Church in its present state is heading for another shipwreck, being blown along by the charismatic movement. But, thanks be to God, that charismatic storm cannot prevail. What a soul comfort to know that our Captain is on board. He knows when and how to say to the stormy sea of falsehood, “Hush, be still” (Mark 4:39b). With sound teaching, the Lord will rescue His people from this storm. The compelling question is: Are you willing to be rescued? Behold the Rescuer! “You Shall Know the Truth and the Truth Shall Set You Free.”

Eternal Security of The Believer
by Moses C. Onwubiko

Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water [natural water] will thirst again; but  whoever drinks of the water that I will give him [salvation by faith in Christ] shall NEVER THIRST; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life (John 4:13-14).

A Primer On Practical Christianity - Studies In The Epistle Of James By William Wright

Martin Luther called James "an epistle of straw," expressing the view of Christians who have wrestled with the interpretation of this short book for centuries. Does The Epistle of James reveal a conflict between James and Paul about the means of salvation? For the Christian who believes that the Bible is the word of God, the answer to this question must be "no." How then, do we interpret such verses as James 2:17, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself"?

Bill does a beautiful work in answering some of the most complex questions that has been considered among theologians.
